You know the feeling you get after you buy a lens, and you're waiting for the delivery? The whole time you're hoping you read the right reviews, and you're going to get a good copy. Well, I believe I lucked out with this APS-C lens. I took it out for a test run. The camera was set on the Superior Auto Mode and all the photos are JPEGS. The intent was to replicate a travel rig where I'm more interested in the trip rather than photo setups. I made no distortion adjustments and only auto functions in PP.

Yup :) . I have tried this lens several times, on the NEX-6 and A7R2. I liked it both times, I didn't buy it because I was pretty certain I wouldn't use my A7R2 all that much in APS-C mode. If I had an APS-C body, this would be on top of my shopping list.

Agreed it's a really good lens. This and my Rokinon 12mm were my go-to lenses on my a6000.

However, I would't leave the distortion correction off because the lens has a lot of distortion and is designed to be corrected.

    Enjoy!

The camera distortion correction was on, I meant that I didn't do any PP correcting.

This lens, my Rokinon 12/2 and my Sony 35/1.8 make up my travel kit.

You mentioned Delray yesterday and I thought to myself that I hadn't been there for a while so I walked around the intercoastal for a while. Thanks for the inspiration.

Yes, the intercostal is a fun place to shoot. I thought I recognized the huts used by the bridge control folks. Glad you had fun.

I too have been tempted many times by this lens but I don't want a power zoom
