Sony 16-50 Shots at open aperture compared

    Here are two shots I took with my 16-50 kit lens at 16mm with wide open aperture. The first is the uncorrected RAW photo and the second has the lens correction applied.

    I was shocked at how much distortion and vignetting the lens had. However, I took this shot as well and converted it to black and white, and actually prefer it without the correction.

    In certain circumstances I could live with the distortion, but the vignette is bothersome. Well, it would be if I wasn't already dealing with it for UWA shots anyway. ;)

    The lens seems sharp enough though.
