I have both lenses, use them with my Nex 6 camera. Does any one know why Phase Detection doesn't work with any of these lenses? I assume the 24mm requires firmware update, but the 10-18mm is brand new (just got it today) and it's supposed to be the latest lens for NEX cameras. Yet, PDAF cannot be enabled.

PDAF is not available for the 10-18 yet. Not sure why both the new 10-18 and 35 lens aren't supported yet =/ You'll need to update the firmware on the 24mm for it to work. Currently only the 16-50, 18-55, 55-210 and 24mm lens support PDAF. I think eventually Sony will come out with the firmware update for the 10-18 and other emount lenses.

I see. That was odd indeed. You'd think they make sure new lenses have it. O well, I haven't quite realized how much better PDAF is compared to traditional AF, so probably doesn't matter. Thanks for your reply!
