New Years Day, I woke up to a bit of a surprise. A blanket of snow covered everything... unusual for the desert. :) I bolted out the door and headed to my favorite local scenic mountains that I am always trying to take pictures of anyway...I knew the snow was going to melt pretty quickly at the lower elevations.

In my eagerness to get some pictures, I forgot to reset the camera to RAW, so these are JPEGS. I missed in PP the control and latitude that I am used to with my RAW files. (Now I have a note taped to my camera to remind me to check the settings before snapping away).

Thanks David! It was one of those days when it was...special. I spent probably an hour shooting 200 yards +/- from this location for more than an hour. The light was constantly changing, from all blue to hints of gold as the sun hit the hills.

    "love the clouds rolling in!"
Thanks Fractal! Oh man, I was obsessed with the clouds. The scene would look totally different from one moment to the next as the clouds rolled through and wafted away.

Excellent work here. Looks like you had great light so the lack of raw wasn't a killer.
