    Hi there,

haven't been here for a while. I was pretty busy working all week while having shootings pretty much every weekend. Hey, being a photographer is hard work. ;)

However, I did miss this forum, and the incredibly amazing people here. So whatever, I'll just take the time to be here. To give you an update on what I did shoot the past weeks, here are some of my photographs.

Having built some contacts in the local music scene, I continued to shoot some concerts. All images shot using my NEX-7 with the Mitakon 35mm T/0.95.

I also got asked by a friend to shoot a couple of volleyball games. To be honest, I'm not only a complete newb at volleyball, but also at photographing sports, so I just did it for collecting some experience. Take the results for what they are - beginner stuff. All shot with my NEX-7, the black & white ones with the Mitakon 35mm, the color ones with the 50mm Touit.

    Personal Projects

I didn't really have time for any personal projects. All I did was quickly updating my social media profile image because I started hating the last one (this happens every couple of months with self portraits ...) and documenting the cute look of my Amiibos before the get all beat up in Smash Bros. However, I can't wait to continue my 'alone in the dark' project, as well as doing some landscape stuff again. All images shot using my NEX-7 and 50mm Zeiss Touit.

That's it. Now I'll just continue to float around here. If you got any comments, critique, or questions about me or my photography, please, just use the big text box right below.

    It's great to be back.

Just the other day I was wondering, whatever happened to Poki? :hmmm:

Great to see you back, and let me just echo Nick here: fantastic concert shots, all poster-worthy. And the volleyball shots are full of action and energy. Not a dud among them, IMhO. :bravo-009:

High standard as usual. As for your volleybal shots, my favorite is #4 with the coach. The concert shots are a joy to look at, a lot of spirit in them. Nice idea of keeping the background in the same tone as the figurines but apart from that they don't do a lot for me; on my monitor it looks like there's some posterization in the background, especially visible in the green shots. Due to Flickr processing?

It's great to see you again and apparently your photography is thriving.

Hey Nick, thanks for the kind words. :)

Hi David, yeah, I wondered myself what happened with me. However, I'm glad to be able to collect more experience in photography. After all, I need some experience to share my "wisdom" with you, right? ;)

Thank you for the warm welcome, Ad! As for the figure shots - yes, this is a problem with the 8 bit JPEG compression used commonly on the web. 8 bit compression never goes well with single color gradients - there just aren't enough tones available to make it look smooth. However, that doesn't stop the heroes of my childhood to proudly pose for my Flickr photostream. :D

I'm hoping I'm able to keep improving my photography like I think I did year after year until now, so one day, I'll actually know what I'm doing.

Nice set of pictures, absolutely love the number 3 the high key shot of the guitarist.

Edit: Silly me that's a bass in his hands
