Taken at Crosby Beach, near Liverpool in the UK
Antony Gormley's Another Place statues
Not exactly what I was expecting. Was expecting a flying superhero!!
Seriously pretty nice. Any history on the fellows?
Antony Gormley's Another Place
Pretty scary things to watch standin there in the beach if you are not familiar with them
the shots were taken as the tide was on it's way out, the farthest out statues are probably almost a quarter of a mile from the sea wall, so will spend the vast amount of their time either underwater, or at least partially submerged...the barnacled statue pictures show just how much an effect the sea has on them, but many further up the beach are just a rusted colour, but have nothing attached to them whatsoever.....but are still affected by the wind and the rain....we walked as far out as we could to get these pictures, but the sand can get quite deep, almost like quicksand not much further out, especially on an decreasing tide
That makes 'em even more scary
Thanks for the very interesting info
Very interesting indeed! I am now going to have nightmares about those statues though. Very creepy to me!
