I went on a brief vacation to Florida and on my last day stopped at a place where they work to rehabilitate birds of prey. Those birds that can not be released back into the wild due to an injury or some other reason are taken care of and, when possible, used for educational purposes. Here are several shots of the birds (as you can see, I'm a little partial to Owls :) ) All were shot with the A6000 and SEL 55-210.

This last shot of a barred owl was taken in the wild at De Leon Springs State Park. What a surprise when this guy flew by, posed for a couple of very quick shots and then took off! For anyone who happens to be visiting that area, they also have a restaurant in the park where you make your own pancakes on a built in griddle at each table -- and they were good!

Great shots... Good work! And a good showing by your SEL55210 as well.
(P.S. - As you might gather from my username, I'm kind of partial to birds of prey myself.)

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It is greatly appreciated.

Nick, I guess you are right. The barn owl is not likely to win any beauty contests (unless, perhaps you are another owl) ;). Fascinating birds, though.
