Has anyone played or have this lens?

I'm looking for a 35mm lens for my collection and this seems reasonably priced compared to lenses such as the MD 35mm f/1.8, which is difficult to find, or the FD 35mm f/2.

I'm super interested in it's 1.4 max aperture and it's full metal construction. Is it worth the 349.99 USD Price tag though?

I know that SLR Magic has their 35mm f/1.7 series that is much like the Fujican CCTV lenses, but that's kind of out of the question for me.

If your looking for the 35mm focal length about 50mm on nex, I would for sure go for the sony 35 1.8 with OSS. You will be able to shoot better at low shutter speed wide open. Even wide at 1.8 it's pretty sharp. Little CA but easily removable. Only about 50 bucks more.

Interesting, I'm looking at prices starting at $449.99 USD. I wonder why it's $100 more...

I'd really love to build a native e-mount collection along side legacy glass, but to me I don't really see Sony's glass worth it yet. I could just be spoiled from playing with L-Glass for so long that I don't feel that the price tag is worth it, yet.

Alongs side that, I feel that I'd rather build my lens collection around manual or legacy lenses. That's the main reason why I switched.

If your looking for legacy, may I suggest canon fd 551.2 and a lens turbo? That combo is about 350,400.00

Took these today, wide open at 1.2 with turbo.

    Out of camera jpgs.

With the regular dumb adapter the lens it tack sharp at 1.2, with turbo it's very "artsy" wide open. Gains sharpness back at about f2

That's right, the Canon FD version of the Lens Turbo works better than the MD version.

Problem is though, I already invested in a lot of MD lenses. So I think I'll wait until they fix the MD version OR if I can find someone who'd be willing to trade FD lenses for MD lenses :D

    Thanks for that suggestion.

Yeah, I had both fd and md turbo. I have over 30 MD mount lenses and was really hoping that the turbo would do the trick. I ended up selling the turbo on eBay with a md 1.4

    I have 4 canon lenses.
