I have a license for Silver Efex 1 and upgraded to PSE11 some weeks ago.
Now I wanted to install SEP1. I pointed the installer to the plugin directory and activated the option for an extra plugin folder in the settings but SEP1 doesn't shoe up in the filter menu.
    Any ideas? :-(
    Thanks.

Hi, probably a totally different system so please don't shoot me if i'm way off the mark... In Lightroom, SEP isn't listed under filters. It is utilised by right clicking the photo and selecting 'Edit in...' then SEP. Maybe the same in PE11?

    Uh...!?!?
Don't know... doesn't mentioned in the user guide that way... will of course give it a try when back home...

User guide says: "...can be found in the filter menu under Nik Software..."

By the way, the folder tsructure looks like this:
    D:\Software\...\PSE11\Plug-Ins\Silver Efex for Lightroom\SEP.exe

I definitely used the installer for Photoshop by the way...

    Doesn't work!
In LR it's set as an external editor, in PSE it should we visible as a filter menu... :banghead:

    No ideas??? :-(
I don't get an answer from the Nik support too...
I don't want to update to SEP2, it's too expensive even as an upgrade for me...

But good news is: I could integrate SEP1 into ACDSee Pro 6 as an external editor which works quite well, but I would prefer PSE111...

I'm now sure the problem is the installer itself!
It does not recognise PSE11 because it's newer than SEP1 so it does not copy all files like a SEP.8bf. file, just the exe version for Lightroom... :banghead:

    Just for your information:
The NIK support answered me and told me that SEP1 is not working with PSE11 and I should upgrade to SEP2.

    BUT...
that's not true because only the installer is the problem!!!
If you can get the correct installed files from another SEP1 user and copy these files in the plug-ins folder everything works as a charm!
Including my already owned license. No problems!!!

Or maybe install an older version of Photoshop yourself, install SEP1 and save the files to copy them to the right folder later after installing the new version of Photoshop.

No doubt you gave other Silver Efex V1 users a nice heads-up!

Good idea if you have one, but PSE11 is my first Photoshop product I bought.
    Used Corel before.
But perhaps the fre version of Photoshop CS2 a available these days could work...
