I've been looks for a superzoom to attach to my NEX 5r for filming hunts. ( been switching between 18-55 and 55-210, really impractical when filming wildlife). I like the looks of the EMount 18-200 but the price is outrageous, I can get the sigma for 1/3 the price of not lower. I own a metabones nex-eos mark ii and was wondering if anybody has had success with the sigma lens or if it even works. Biggest concern is aperture control and stabilization.

The sigma EF lenses I have (50mm and 12-60mm) do not have af with metabones, but I can change the aperture. Maybe the reason is that they back engineered the Canon af. Tamron works with the newer version metabones, but still af is slow so it makes it easier to mf. However IS works with the lenses that I tried, both Canon and Tamron. So I assume Sigma IS should work, since the electronic connection for aperture change is there.

Auto focus is not a concern with me
