I received my Canon FD mount "Lens Turbo" yesterday. So I took it for a walk this morning at a local park. Stacked a Nikon-to-CanonFD on top, and used two Nikon Series E lenses (economy line, single coated, and lightweight). All pictures lightly processed in LR, and not cropped at all.

    Nikon Series E 50mm f/1.8

    DSC05402.

    DSC05405.

    DSC05407.

    DSC05408.

    DSC05422.

    Nikon Series E 100mm f/2.8

    DSC05455.

    DSC05431.

    Some more Yellow Flags Irises
    DSC05449.

    DSC05453.

If you want to see big size, you can open the image in a new tab or window, change /s960/ to /s2048/.

Overall I'm quite happy with it. Bottom line, it is one more tool/toy in the bag. You gain about half stop more light, and it gives you shallower DoF. Don't expect it to automagically give you 3D FF look - that depends more on the lens, light and how you compose.

You're all welcome to post shots taken with "Lens Turbo" in this thread. Please write down the main lens when you post. I think I'm going to try some 35mm and 28mm when I get a chance.

Your results are very good. I will get one in the autumn if price drops somewhat.

    Great pics Eno789

I've created a review on the Canon FD Lens Turbo on themartist.com - my image tests may not be perfectly scientific but you'll be able to see some comparisons with and without the adaptor. For me it seems there is about an extra stop of light, but I think one has to take into account the effect of the added focal view on the amount of existing light.

I'll plan to do some sharpness tests as well as some video tests very soon. All in all, I way prefer the nex 7 with lens turbo than without.

Damn! Just when I thought I had all the lenses I "need," it occurs to me that a Canon FD 24mm f/2 and a Lens Turbo would be just about the perfect combo for images of the Milky Way. And I live within a day's ride of some of the least light-polluted skies in the entire U.S.

    Sigh.

Here're some comparison shots I took today. The test was not scientific (there can be framing and focusing errors), but I think Lens Turbo is a very useful tool, even though the corners are pretty bad.

My MD version is scheduled to come this afternoon. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I can get some test shots. It's been raining all night and this morning.

Does anybody knows if this adapter will work with canon ef lenses and all of its features, such as aperture and af?

Thanks Brian, that's a great effort to show everyone what to expect when using a Lens Turbo.

Yes, thanks Brian! Though it's kind of disappointing to see how soft the corners are in comparison to the D600 shots. I guess there really is no such thing as a free lunch.

Ok got the md in the mail....

Shooting with the rokkor 50mm 1.4 seems more natural. Field of view is very nice. Noticed a bit of pincushion effect when shooting a brick wall and doorway. Probably easily corrected in LR.

Did not notice any blue when shooting into daylight outdoor but did notice a slight purple hue indoor by open window. Could have been white balance problem.

Overall images are sharp and you do seem to gain about 1 stop. Still the MD is a bit soft wide open compared to the cannon 1.2 that I own. Stopped down to f2:f2.2 contrast seems to pick up nicely.

More than anything else the "real" 50 mil focal length is the coolest part. Ill have to try my 135mm and 28mm next.
