I took an Olympus E-M5 and a Sony A7 to a blues concert of friend with the following lenses:

    A7:
    Voigtlander 12mm f/5.6
    Minolta 58mm f/1.2

    E-M5:
    Voigtlander 17.5mm f/.95
    Olympus 45mm f/1.8 (truly wishing that I had the PL43mm f/1.2)

I had originally imagined that this camera combination would be just about perfect for my interests (backpacking & landscape), but I was pleased to find that it worked extremely well here also. Having two small bodies made it easy to quickly move about to different areas of the room. Most of the time I had the 17.5mm on the E-M5 and the 58mm on the A7. In conjunction with a 35mm-equivalent, the slightly longer than normal 58mm worked well since they're a little farther apart than a typical 35mm & 50mm, while still not being as tight as a full blown short telephoto. The 12mm f/5.6 was hard to use because it was so slow, but I still like the results.

Edit: All of these are with the A7 except the last which is the E-M5 with the 45mm f/1.8

Wish they hadn't had that stand there...

I'm really happy with the results, but the whole experience has me trying to figure out how I can fund a copy of the Zeiss 55mm f/1.8. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm seriously considering selling my Panasonic 25mm f/1.4. I had it in my bag, but it never came out. That's never happened before.

You got some good shots there, Mike. Is there any way to tell which camera these came from, other than going to Flickr?

Thanks. It was fun. I don't get the opportunities to do this kind of photography very often.

If you click on the image and go to the flickr page, I have the EXIF data there. All of these are with the A7 except for the last which is with the E-M5 & 45mm f/1.8.

These came out great, Mike! I know how you feel about the PL25. I still have mine, and it will be hard to give up, but the FE55 is a sweet lens.

Not bad, one of the most challenging places to shoot.

Yeah, I'll be holding onto the 25mm for now, Amin. I've done too much gear shuffling over the past few months already. The more I think about it, the more I think that I'll eventually limit μ43 to the extremes ends of focal lengths and a couple unique compact lenses. But the middle wide to short telephoto range seems like idea for the Sony A7.

Thanks. My friend appreciated it. He's just shifting toward full time music and I was glad to help him out.

    Here are a few more from the A7 & Minolta 58mm f/1.2:
