Hi Olli. The weird stainless steel buildings were built as the national centre for popular music over 10 years ago in an attempt to draw in tourists from other parts of the U.K. Flopped. They are now used as the admin centre for students attending Sheffield Hallam University. The thing about Sheffield is that there is a great range of architectural styles, from several hundred years old to modernist stuff like this.
