Didn't get enough Depth the first time I took this photo so decided to go back and stop down a bit more but after all that I still like the first photo better, what do you guys think.

There are elements of each that I prefer over the alternative. I like the clouds and horizon and wave in the first one, and the foreground exposure and composition in the second. It’s a tough one. But if you put either on my screen, I’d linger over it.
It's interesting that you can visit a place at different times and come up such different results, even the rocks in the foreground seemed to change position because of the waves. I agree the clouds and wave in the first one seems to make the difference, wish I would've had more time there in the first visit and tried different settings.

I like the first one more, the sky, break of the wave, and framing. As well as the position of the rocks in calm pool of water. If only it had the highlights of the second image for the shadows...like the lighting details more. And the wet rock surfaces, but not the bubbles. I guess one can plan the shot by scooping some water to wet down the rocks. It is interesting that the wave action had moved all the rock around.
