shaft of light

    This presented itself while I was shooting the maple tree stuff. The foreground is less than scintillating, but the vertical shaft of light was kinda cool. Nikkor 80-400 VR @ 80/11 on the 5N.

    A sun pillar. Caused by suspended ice crystals in the atmosphere. Best capture of one I've seen in a while. Nice.
