Here's the second part of the Seattle Aquarium shots. This is mostly reef action. If you've never shot an aquarium you should go give it a try. It's a real challenge with no tripod. More shots on my blog.

All shot with my 5N/kit zoom, auto-ISO, noise reduction applied, sharpened as needed.

This first shot is looking down into a tank that has a side window to the outside of the building.

NEX-5N    E 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 OSS    18mm    f/4.0    1/60s    ISO 500

NEX-5N    E 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 OSS    18mm    f/4.0    1/60s    ISO 3200

NEX-5N    E 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 OSS    18mm    f/4.0    1/60s    ISO 2000

And my favorite part of the aquarium, the dome. Best visited on an overcast day to keep the contrast down. It was raining on this visit.

Thanks D, I rather like that one myself. And it actually cleans up very well when bumped up to the correct exposure in post. The NEX line amazes me in the amount of detail you can pull out of shadows and still get a useable pic.

Most of there were shot @ 3200. Even at that they weren't horrible, but I just hate noise in a pic unless I'm going for a certain "feel", which happens once every, oh 10,000 pics or so. ;)
