Can anyone compare the AF speed of this lens with the Sony FE 50mm f1.8?

Fast on an A7ii. It's faster than the 50 in my opinion.

well, if you "bayonet out" the outer part with the tiny mid lens cap" you can then mount a lens hood (I'd assume)

Hi Mark,

I noticed that you have the Samyang 35/2.8 and in the past you had the Zeiss 32/1.8. How does the Sam. compare to the Zeiss lens. I am interested as I migrated to Sony for the small size only to find some of the lenses a bit over size for the body’s..

The 35mm focal length is great on both APSC and full frame cameras. I have enjoyed my 12/2 Rokinon and would have considered this lens except that I have the focal length very well covered with the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens.

I find my copy of this lens to be a very reliable and regular inhabitant on my A7Rii, and am quite pleased with it.

On my A7ii it's faster, but perhaps just because the Sony 1.8 is so damned slow.
