Despite being a long, heavy and a not very well balance lens on my camera, I tend to gravitate towards bringing the Sam 35mm 1.4 FE out when I only want one lens! I still can't believe how good and cheap this lens is considering it's an f/1.4! :D

A couple from last night with the A7III + Sam 35 1.4:

Awesome! I'd check wide open and corner performance first to make sure you got a decent copy. If it's not tack sharp wide open, I'd definitely try an AF fine tune adjustment and make sure you're running the latest firmware. Looking forward to your photos! ;)

Thanks.
Let's get the gang together.
Tacos and shoot.

I found the balance with my A7III to be really funky with the Sam 35mm 1.4 lens. I picked up a Neewer VG-C3EM vertical grip off Amazon and it makes a big difference on the way the lens/camera combination handles. They have a Neewer VG-C2EM for the A7II for a bit cheaper. Honestly the grip practically feels like it's OEM. I have zero complaints especially for the price!

I just picked up a Smallrig L-plate and sold my VG-C2EM.
It has a pinky extension and feels pretty good. Hopefully substantial enough.
If not, I think the Neewer will work out.
I do kinda miss a vertical shutter release.
I don't miss the bulk in the bag. ( :

Yeah I think for these bigger 1.4 lenses, you need better grip. Strangely for my Sony 70-200mm f/4 I was fine without the vertical grip!
