I enjoy taking photos of birds and to assist with that, recently purchased up a used SAL70300G in pristine condition. It arrived this evening, so what better way to check it out than mate it up to the LA-EA2 and fire away at one of the stunning bluebirds that have nested in our backyard.

    Looking good. Great clarity!

I had the LA_EA2 and the 55-300, but the combo didn't work for me. That lack of stabilization combined with the narrow aperture gave me more frustration than enjoyment whenever I shot handheld :frown:

Thanks for the feedback. Obviously, it's a fairly large lens to mount on a Nex-7, but it certainly can be used handheld, and the optical quality of the lens is very high (according to the various test reports I read before buying it). So far, I am super happy with it, but have a lot more practice and experimentation to do before I'm able to take full advantage of its capabilities.
