The 42MP sensor on the A7RII is going to expose some lenses for being less sharp than one would like. The Rokinon 135/2 is not one of those lenses. This is wide open at f/2. Click through to see the full res version. {}
Not easy to nail focus wide open on action. Missed here but still a fun shot: {} _DSC4397 by Amin Sabet, on Flickr
I'm a novice and can't compare it to anything else but I'm happy with the Samyang. I bought it because the reviews were consistent and the price was the same as a 15-20yr old CY Zeiss 135/2.8. Surprisingly, it works well for me at T-ball where I can predicatively focus. In fact, I think the manual focus is an advantage sometimes because the camera isn't deciding what the subject is. There's a lot of stuff moving out there.. It's obviously a great portrait lens. {} {} ... {} Need more background defocus ^^ {} {} {} Original below + 2 crops {} {} {} {} {}
Mine is a Samyang. I think it's crime not to have this lens in my collection unless I've an AF version. {} {}
I didn't use this lens nearly enough on the trip, but here's a few taken w/ A7ii. Icefields Pky {} Richardson Hwy {} Denali Hwy {} .
