So this particular copy is going back due to slight decentering (see top left decentering test photos) but oh my goodness this lens is fantastic. For one it is fairly small yet easy to use. Second, it is fast and so good for any kind of lighting situation up a little after sunset. Third, it's super wide angle with very little distortion and excellent color reproduction.

For a 12mm lens that costs about 320€ the results are stunning. Another lens to have, I suppose.

Hm, maybe it's my aging eyes, but I'm not seeing the decentering you mention. Even after putting on my reading glasses and looking at the full-size image close up on my 27" monitor, I'm unable to see any. In fact, if I were forced to find a flaw, I'd say the right side is a little softer than the left. But with a wide-angle landscape lens like this one, I don't believe I'd ever notice it in any real-world photos. :hmmm:

Comparing the top left corner of the Rokinon photo (be careful you aren't looking at the Canon 50mm) to the bottom left you can see the top left is noticeably softer. It's hard to compare to the bottom right because that area is darker.

Btw - compare the test shots of the pond with my test shots with the Voigtlander 15mm f4.5. This Rokinon compares very well and renders some richer colors.

It looks like the top right corner might have a touch of softness too. Maybe not as much as the top left but there is there is not as much to look at there so it is difficult to judge at web sizes

I think you need to pick a target with a more uniform pattern (like text) for your test. I'm with Woodworks on this one, I can't see an issue either. Must be oldfogyitis or something. :p

@dsiglin or other owners. I'm seriously considering this lens as an upgrade to my sel16f28 + converter combo. The combination is ok but I find myself a little disappointed. The 16mm is really really soft in the corners and will smear if light isn't great.
Is this Rokinon worth the upgrade?

A more uniform surface pattern like a brick wall is best for testing de-centering. I use a cinder block wall and tripod to test my used lenses.
If indoors, a popular method is to put up a sheet of black/white newspaper. The letters' clarity is a sure test.

Looks great, it's also going to be my next native lens consideration!

If anyone has this lens and also owns a FF E-mount body
[IOW an A7xxx] could you please show us how much, if
any, extra coverage this lens offers beyond APSC ?

    TIA

I already did that. You may want to check the actual lens thread.
