Here's a scenario which I'm sad to say hasn't happened to me.

Your long lost Uncle who happens to be very rich finally contacts you and offers to buy you any single piece of photographic equipment you want, any cost.
But stipulates it must fit into what you already have, only be a single item, you can't sell, swap or give it away or use it to replace something then sell that item, and you must use it.

    What would you pick?

Think I'd get the Ziess Batis 18mm f2.8 lens.

Easy! This will survive many cameras and lenses.

Well I know I should be greatful, but I have to say this uncle must struggle with reconciling generosity and sadism. I can only imagine the belly laughs he enjoyed as his lawyer drafted this criteria.

So since I won't be able to replace my A7R with an A7RII, or my 24-70 F4 with a 24-70GM, or my Sirui travel tripod with a Gitzo Traveler, or, or, or, or...
I'll have to settle for a stupid Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS. Whatever! Thanks Unc

You can have anything you want, even a second camera body, but you can't use his gift to sell stuff and capitalize on it that's all.

Canon EF 600mm F/4L IS II USM lens, sneak in the teleconverters into the hard case too.
But I'll probably need Ad's tripod to support this beast. :D

Either an A7r2 or preferably he new Hasselblad with kit lens if that counts as a single purchase. They are things I would like but just won't get any extra money out of them so can't justify them and would rather blow extra monies on things like holidays.

I love this uncle. I hope his offer will stand for the year. I am hoping for a longer focal length Batis this year. I am also keeping an eye on that announced Voigtlander 65mm.

Those may seem like modest requests. But after he paid for all the above requests, I am not sure he will have much left for me. (Gotta take good care of rich uncles.)

Paul, you're an imaginative guy, in a good way of course....:th_salute:

Uncle :( (all my uncles are dead now! Huhu..), can I have the 35 Summilux FLE? Can I include the Voigtlander close focus M to Sony adapter as well? Cheers Unc
