Hi All

I've had an NEX 5 for many years now and love it. I'm not any kind of expert photographer or photo-ista.

The problem I have is that recently the screen started to misbehave and now it just either doesn't turn on, or when it does turn on it flickers a lot, or the image is reduced in size. As there is no EVF it makes it very difficult to view what I'm taking photos.

The photos themselves are fine, so it's just the viewscreen that's messed up.

    I've recorded a video of it -

The first power cycle shows the reduced screen, after that it's mostly very faint lines or black.

Anyone seen these or able to shed any light on what might be wrong?

    Thanks in advance

Looks like its some sort of malfunction with the screen's electrical connection to the body...

Having said that, I see (cheap but original) Nex-5 replacements screens available on regulary
