Praying Hands of Mary, Scotland

My wife and I enjoyed a nice walk to a stone that is called Praying Hands of Mary, situated on a hill side in Glen Lyon (valley) somewhat near Bridge of Balgie, Scotland.
A description of how to get there can be found here:
Glen Lyon - Praying Hands of Mary

The small path from the parking lot follows the river Lyon over farmland with life stock and along a forrest until you reach a farm from which on you go uphill. This small winding path take you up to this lovely stone.
Its unusual V-shape can best be photographed uphill against the sun (best be there catching the evening sun) or downhill overlooking the Glen and the hills opposite. In my case there was a weather divide – it was raining on the other side.
As always – you have to be very lucky to get right light and weather.

So now:

Lovely images but, IMO, it takes a bit of imagination to see that stone outcropping as a pair of hands.

You‘re right, but you have to admit that it sounds better than „strangely formed stone in the middle of nowhere“.
And the moment was breathtaking so I guess that special name is well deserved...

A really nice set of one of the most beautiful Glens here in Scotland.
The last time I was there was to climb the 2 Loch an Daimh Munros.
Need to have a revisit sometime soon ;)
