I often bracket my shots +/-1eV and I upload everything I shoot to Google Photos as a backup copy. It interprets my brackets as HDR and offers to tone map them. The results are sometimes pretty good. It deals with handheld shots remarkably well. Unfortunately the user has no control over the tone mapping process. Maybe they’ll add that someday.

I think this photo is inherently 'high dynamic range' on the basis that I get both highlight and shadow warnings in Lightroom....

I didnt process it through HDR software, so maybe that does count...

What camera did you use? because in the past, older sensors didn't have greater dynamic range as the modern sensors. It's one of the reasons I regularly shot hdrs images from at least 5 different exposure levels, but only if the scene was tricky.
Like this one, 5 into 1.

This is a single shot 5-frame JPG ISO 5000 shot with the A7RII and Voigtlander 10mm (uncorrected distortion). I had never intended to shoot JPEG, but I had forgotten I had set it on New Year's Eve for fireworks. I was quite disappointed when I realized my mistake. The camera and lens performed well with the high ISO, IMO. The HDR was an after thought.

These range from "realistic" HDR to a bit more 'artsy fartsy.'

12 shots, 4 sets of -2/0/+2, merged to HDR with HDR Efex Pro 2, then stitched with PS. All shots came from A7R3 with the 55mm and an ND1000.

Full image was ~ 11K x 4K
