Not sure yet if I'm really going to dive into this, but lately I've been thinking about picking up the model railway hobby again. Now that the children have their own homes we have some room slowly becoming vacant (when I get them kids to move out the stuff they left behind ). No real model railway yet but I already provided some open boxcars with a suitable load. {}
I'd say that's a hobby which plays pretty nice with photography. Just don't forget to include a few lights (especially one you can use for sunsets) and something you can use as background and we should soon get awesome miniature train panoramas.
Ah yes, who knows. At first I thought I'd be most interested in automation of train traffic but that's just more of what I do now for a living, tackling software problems. I'm already looking to provide lighting in some passenger coaches so the scenery thing might catch me even more.
Don't get too excited, I'm not that easy to get rid of. :evilsmile: Yep, Märklin H0 it was and will be.
I dream of getting back into that too, but my kids are still in the house. If you do get into it, please share the photos, so I can live vicariously through them!
Yes of course, I only have 18 including all kinds of lenses useable on a bellows. OK, I need to seek professional help. :eek_old:
Model trains are cool. I was really into them growing up. When times were good, My mother would bring home a few rails when she got paid. For Christmas and Birthdays, I would get an engine and cars. This really brings back memories. Have fun if you continue.
