Sign of the times we live in now...mask production underway. Amazing how many she's made without spending any money.

My wife has just finished 50 masks in two days for family memebers and friends.

I’m not a big fan of IR, but this one is very effective. Of course, the very good composition helps a lot. Very nice, Ted!

Btw, are you still in Florida, or back in Cleveland? Either way, wishing you the best, during this difficult time.
Thank you very much David. I'm still in Florida as there's no reason to leave until this situation is over. I can think of worse places to be quarantined. I appreciate the good wishes and I hope you and yours stay safe and healthy.

I'm on lockdown at the partner's in southern England. Out on my sanctioned walk today I came across what I can only call a 'tombstone graveyard':

This news hitting the wire may be of interest to your wife and to anyone capable of sewing face masks for themselves and others.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...n-masks-help-effectiveness-homemade-PPEs.html

The owners of Suay Sew Shop brainstormed to find a more effective filter media for homemade masks than cotton. Or to turn to using a bandana as recommended by the surgeon general (SMH!).
The ladies discovered that blue auto shop towels from Zep had 90% effectiveness to filter down to 0.3 micron. They bought an industrial tester from Grainger!
They recommend a double layer of blue shop towels sandwiched between the cotton layers. These shop towels are made from a polyester.

Ingenius!

It was starting to rain so this was a hurried shot. We got 3/4" in the last 24 hrs.
