There are one or two threads here that are similar (but seem to be specific to a subject) so if no one objects to such a thread in "Other Discussions" I'd like to kick this off.

My intention here is to showcase what you can get from a phone camera (helps if it has DNG capacity too).

Wow! You set a pretty high bar there, pellicle. Here are a few of my favorite phone shots from the past year.

A few years old (Edinburgh) but still I love them - and never again was the weather the way it was when I took the shots when I tried to retake them with my Sony...

We recently went to Chicago and, as luck would have it, my unreliable back decided to be uncooperative. Hauling my A7III and 24-105 was just not going to work. So, I used the camera in my pocket: my new iPhone 11 Pro. I was pleased with it. The "ultra wide" lens (Apple's term) sometimes has some wicked edge distortion - see the second photo of the Marquette Building lobby - the capitals on the columns to the right are not tipped - but otherwise the camera worked very well. And my back thanked me.

It's funny, I never had a phone with a decent camera in it until I got my iPhone7 last year. I still had to be reminded it had a camera in it when I wanted to take a picture of something and complained to my brother about lacking a camera.

One thing I love about my iPhone is that it is always with me and if I happen to spot something interesting I can just pull out the phone and fire away.....

From a quick trip to the library this morning -- this caught my eye and I decided that it could make an interesting image, especially in B&W:

So yesterday I found myself at the dentist's office and since it was windy I'd left my camera at home. They had a really pretty Orchid on the counter and I remembered I had my PHONE with me!!!
