Ordination of Father Konstantinos

I was asked to photograph the ordination of our Deacon to Priesthood in our Orthodox Church. The natural light that morning was beautiful - all I had to do is not screw it up. I used my A7r2 with the Zony 55mm 1.8 and Sony G 24mm 1.4.

Being behind the Altar with 20 some priests, deacons and altar boys made for tight quarters but I was given permission to move where I wanted as long as I wasn't "getting in the way". I didn't use a flash (didn't really need it) and shot in silent shutter.

Excellent shots, really conveying a true depth of feeling. Not easy to do with restricted movement, and no way to really rehearse the shoot.

You and the A7Rii did a damned good job on this shoot! I have been vacillating between a used A7Rii (around a thousand dollars) and a new A7iii (at two grand)

I love the apparent 3-D depth of these images...

The reason that I would be more interested in a used A7Rii than a used A7iii is because the A7Rii is an older model and very likely would be on sale because of that. The A7iii is the current model and would probably be on sale because the camera did not suit the seller for some reason

He loved them! Sunday he is beginning his role as the new priest for a Church about a 2 hour drive from here. We are excited for him.
