Optech Fast Cap?

I just saw these and was curious if anyone used them. Seems a much more elegant solution that the lens cap hanging from a string concept.

It may seem more elegant Dave, but it only puts more stress/strain on your lens mount IMO. I never liked the idea of a string either. For me, I just put the cap in a pocket or leave it in the car if I'm out shooting, since if I am shooting it won't be on the lens anyways.

My problem with this unit is that I always shoot (both indoors and out) with a lens hood and I can't figure how I could combine this with a hood.

I have tried numerous ways to keep my lens cap safe but, I finally bit the bullet and decided to just store it in my shirt pocket or camera bag pocket if I am carrying a bag.

I hate the string, I simply put the cap in my pocket or leave it in the camera bag after changing lenses. Both caps are where they can be conveniently reached.
