The old crane forms a contrasting backdrop for the launch moored at Constitution Dock. Reflections caught in the pastel morning light.

    A 30 second exposure at f4.5, iso100, 70mm with the Sony 70-400mm F4-5.6 G SSM II and a Lee Big Stopper.

Looking forward to receiving the new A7Rii hopefully later in the week.

Thanks Nick and thanks for rekindling the desire for long exposures.

    Really sweet shot Jeff.
BTW did you go with the Lee ND kit for quality or function?

Good question. I bought it in the UK 5 years ago, Lee are huge there and I don't remember there were too many choices around then.

I was curious because I use round B+W and always wanted to know if it was worth switching to something like Lee.

I am not sure of the differences. I did read a comparison test recently and that was more about the different white balance settings.

To my eye they are similar image quality. The colour cast is different. When I read this it did make me realise the A7R only goes to 9900k on the custom kelvin white balance so its a little short of the recommended 10000k, and I have to warm the image a little in post.
