While I normally use the wall charger for charging the batteries, it is nice to have a back-up option and charging on the go is very handy. I had dropped to about 15% and in a 30 minute drive had recharged to about 45%.

It's difficult for me to see what you've done there, Dave. It looks like you cobbled together some sort of car charger cord. But I can't tell what the cord is plugged into.

I just picked up a cheap cigarette lighter to mini USB cable and keep that in my car. Works great.

Ya, I had several cords that I wrapped up. It's kind of a rats next. I need to clean it up a bit.

The ability to do that --"charge on the go" via USB is an underrated value with the e-mount cameras, I feel. As someone who occasionally finds himself in remote areas with no grid power, being able to charge from a 12V battery or a USB power brick dohickey is pretty handy.

Ya, I have a wall charger that I use at home. I had no idea there was a car version.

When I'm away for a few days, disconnected from the world (usually fishing in remote places) I bring with me these powerbanks, plus 2 spare batteries.
The one on the left is 20,000mAh and the smaller one is 10400mAh. Both will fully charge a FWP-50 battery about 5 times.

Isn't it funny in our modern digital age, that getting our 'tech' charged is a constant priority?
    :)

I keep a powerbank in my camera bag just in case. Very handy!

there is a USB external charger I been using for some time now. Inexpensive and works great, whether at home or in the car. You use your mobile phone charger cable Micro USB to USB and have a regular cigarette lighter charger for USB. (please don't ban me for posting this link, Sorry if its not allowed, send me a pm please) Thank you. Just want to help

It's perfectly fine to alert other members to experiences or good deals on photo gear, Xterra. We even have a forum for it, and I've taken the liberty to move this thread over there.

Buy Products Online from China Wholesalers at Aliexpress.com

For 6 euros. Works perfectly. You can order spare batteries from the same site.

Often on discount you can order 20.000mAh external battery with USB port for 20 something euros. In the car I also have charger with 4 USB ports, so basically it is possible to charge everything on the move. Check same brands in Amazon or Ebay, could be more convenient for you then Chinese sites.
