I picked up a Pen F 38/1.8 this week, after pondering the purchase for months. While I think the lens is probably more suited to close quarters, intimate photography, I decided to give it a try on more sweeping views. The images have a sort of old-school film-ish feel. I didn't do anything special to the camera JPEGs besides adjusting the contrast. This tiny lens is neat. I'm looking forward to getting it out in the woods tomorrow for a photo shoot.

Have fun with that lens, Tony! It was always one of my favorites on the NEX-6.

The longer I look at it, the more I like it. The white wave in the foreground, the waves behind it, the showers in the background ... Beautiful!

Thanks guys! Of course it's all luck!. Lucky first day with my new (to me) a5100 anyway, and lucky weather conditions, the Irish Sea has been still as a millpond for a couple of days and then yesterday these deep swells under the unseasonally placid surface.

The Sony wide panorama sure is wide!

The portrait is outstanding in clarity and resolution wide open.

I'm stoked to see these...as I just ordered an affordable one that needs some TLC, that I'll be restoring. My other Pen-F lenses have all been excellent on Sony's APS-C sensor.

It's an amazing lens that needs to spend more time on my camera...especially my new a6000. It's going to get a workout soon...lol

Several years ago I had the NEX-6 + Pen F 38/1.8 combo. It was an excellent combination.

I had the same, and came away with many of my all-time favorites.

Same here, David. I printed a few and have them hanging in our house and in my office at work.
