For fun, I entered this week's contest at Matt Granger's site, for the theme LINES.

It was a recently edited photo I posted here. I tuned into today's Youtube video for the results...
Now I know how Miss USA feels like. :D
    I really wanted that lens!

Too bad. Next time have it critiqued here first, I'm sure someone would have made remarks on the slight slanting of the building!

I really liked that shot when I saw in the B&W thread Will.
I think he's mixing apples and oranges as that winner was totally posed/setup, whereas yours was more a spur of the moment, do the best you can when you see it shoot it I'd imagine. Am I right on that part?

Yes, my shot was a spur of the moment street photograph. I was walking over to the 9-11 Memorial and looked up at one side of World Trade Center One. I snapped a couple shots and the misalignment is due to standing off to the right of the middle of the building. Tried my best cropping to make it look aligned. But you can't compensate for parallax.

It's OK, the winning shot was well done and deserving. I think it was the Salk Institute. It was fun to hear my name mentioned at the very end. :)

Yes, I'm pretty sure it was the Salk Institute down in La Jolla, too.

Oh so unlucky Will. But at least you got the Posing Guide as the runners' up prize.
