The local camera shop here has a gorgeous Nikkor 28/2 AiS for $100. I know zip about Nikon lenses but my instinct is to grab it. It's clean and in great shape except a small ding on the filter thread. I would guess it got dropped from a relatively short distance (I didn't notice the ding until the the second time i looked at it and I tend to be pretty careful...meaning it's small) and while it looks like it MIGHT accept a filter I have my doubts. I was actually looking for a 28/2.8 AiS but this popped up. Any thoughts?

BTW, the shop has a 7 day return policy as well.

Not a typical price, grab it.

I had them hold it for me, I'm picking it up tomorrow and buddy is lending me his Nikon to NEX adapter to test it out (just in case the knock that created the ding on the filter threads did anything more substantial).

I used to shoot that lens 15 years ago on a FM2. It is a superb 28mm lens, fast, and with CRC (close range correction from Nikon).

This link is an excellent source for all things about Nikkor:

I use the 35 1.4 and love it.

picked up the lens, it's in nice shape. The focus is a bit sloppy. Feels like it needs to be re-lubed (although perfectly useable). Can't complain about the $100 price tag. I'll probably get the opportunity to go out and shoot with it this weekend.
