There are adapters for many ranges of lenses and all work quite well. I know of no issues with adapted lenses giving trouble for the NEX's metering system. However, lenses that have electronically controlled apertures, such as Canon EOS and some Nikon lenses either can't be adapted or need specialized adapters that can be quite expensive. Besides those, many adapted lenses have aperture rings on the lenses themselves, so there is no issue in controlling the aperture.
