just bought my first NEX this week and look forward to learning the ins and outs of it. my photography hobby started with a Sony a330 and about a year later upgraded to the a55. Took a couple photography classes at a local college and really enjoyed it. This is when I sold all my Sony stuff and bought a Nikon D7000 and a couple lenses. and maybe I was just lazy but I couldn't get a hang of it. So my search for another Sony began. I had narrowed it down to an a65 but was just waiting on the right deal to buy one. (i'm cheap) As I was waiting I did a little research on the NEX cameras. and after the last few weeks I finally decided to buy the NEX-6 when I saw the price drop this last weekend to $899. Plus add on top the 10% student discount Sony gives I got it for $809. not ever holding one in my hands I decided to go to best buy to check them out. they ended up matching the price of Sony Educational Online price so I didn't have to wait for it to be shipped. Also I got the 16mm pancake lens for the bundle price of $150 (even though sony doesn't offer that bundle anymore) Another big decision maker in this was that my wife and I are expecting our first child later this year, so I wanted something smaller and easier to handle than a typical sized DSLR. Hopefully I'm happy with it, and looking forward to learning all about it on this forum. and maybe after a while I can help out some new people soon too.
