I'd like to see how that 85 compares with my Contax, both in size and IQ. :popcorm2:

Awesome thanks for the link, look like nice lenses but the 100 comes with a nice price tag too.
The APS-C folk will be disappointed though nothing for them yet.

The 100mm f2.8 STF is a pretty specialist lens. It is the size of the GM, priced about the same but nearly 4 stops slower at T5.6... good for flowers though....

They didn't ask for an 135mm lens???

    :D

Joking aside, its the usual pattern from Sony unfortunately - they'll happily produce new apsc bodies and Full Frame lenses and expect apsc users to use them on their cameras (and pay the higher price tag).
Even though in the case of the 85mm its not a huge, unbalanced, not proper fit for an apsc camera IMHO...

Small and light 85/1.8 is the lens I was waiting for.

50 is not that slow on A7ii after upgrade of firmware, if it is equal I am fine. Works terribly on APS-C, but on A7ii works like charm. Let's hope bokeh isn't nervous as it can be on 85/1.8 of such a construction. Blades are rounded, 9 of them, not bad for now, plus weather sealed.

    Totally agree!!!
Personally i have stop any hope for any announce of apc-s lens. The last apc-s lens (E PZ 18-105) was announced at August 2013, 4 years ago.
If they expect to buy FE lenses, this is a joke. I have already started to think about moving to other system.

I get the frustration. I have and regularly use an FE lens on my APS-C A6000, but most of the FE lenses are beyond my price range.

Both sound like good lenses but I've just bought a mint used 90 2.8 macro, seems a great lens and has the macro capability
