    This is from Sony's website

"Measuring just 3/16" (29.9mm) when fully retracted, this SELP-1650 retractable zoom lens is super compact and easy to carry so you can quickly whip out your camera and spontaneously grab shots as they occur."

    3/16" is 4.7625mm so it's either a hefty 30mm or "where's my lens?"

Probably meant 1 and 3/16 inches

I would hardly consider 30mm as hefty, lol... but yeah, 'where's my lens' sounds rather attractive too. :D

30mm seems reasonably, but I wouldn't call it a "pancake". Anyways, nice to have more reach on the wide end. Still preferring the 10-18mm though. ;)

Sony's idea of a pancake sounds good if it's for breakfast. As for the lenses, I think Panasonic/Olympus/Canon have it at the moment.

Time will tell, I'm looking forward to future releases.

It sounds real inviting. Let's hope it is not too expensive.

Looks like a manual zoom ring on the 16-50

I think this weekend I'm going to buy the 50f1.8, then sell my kit lenses, then buy the 16-50 PZ in the spring. And I'm saving up for the RX1   Sony have totally done a SUATMM on me this Photokina
