Picked up a 55-210 for the NEX-7 yesterday for 200 bucks...the guy bought it new, never used it ( he had the 18-200 as well )

I love it, I will only be using this in proper light etc basically what is was meant for.. but the bokeh at 210 (actually 315mm) is wonderful.

One thing I should mention in case anyone does not know, is that the OSS does not kick in until you half press!

the lens is fairly light as well, fits in my bag still on the camera just fine.... mind you I am slowly losing room... :)

Obviously this photo was taken off my macbook...lol and yes I have a guitar problem...

Yeah, it's a great lens, in good light. But now you have to find a good, used DH1758 teleconverter to turn that puppy into a 535mm equivalent lens.

Oh yeah. I got the 1758 and it works REALLY good with it. I use it very often except for low light sports where my legacy ones are much better. Congrats!

    Where can I find one?
Just googling around seems like they are discontinued.
the thread is 58 mm? the 55-210 is 49 mm
Am I looking at the wrong one ?

They are discontinued, and getting harder to find. But worth the quest, IMO. I got mine from a seller on Amazon Marketplace. There are usually some available on ebay, but most ebay sellers have gotten wise to their value, and aren't selling them cheap.

No, that's correct. You have to get a 49-58mm step-up ring to make it work. But it's pretty much the only way to get that kind of reach and still have OSS and AF.
