So I just got the HVL-F20M flash for my A6000. I have never had a "real" flash before, always relying on the built-in flashes, but I want to learn how to work in flashes.

I still want to keep this system as low profile as possible, this flash being ideal for that.

And then I am in the process of creating a bit of a rear diffuser for the flash made out of an old vertical blind wrapped with ducting tape and probably will be attached via a bit of velcro.

    Indeed low profile.

My 2c: indoors don't use direct flash, as I see you already started. Use bounce (from left or right wall for the beginning). These photos make a difference comparing the direct flash ones - same as built in.

On the other hand, you can use direct flash outdoors to fill shadows, but normally not needed anymore if you shoot RAW. Sony has magnificent RAW.

Thanks. I think it was the better of the shots. Of course, these were shot very close to the subject.
