Took the plunge last weekend at the local BB, picking up a A7II and 24-70 /f4 lens.

Coming from micro four third E-PL3 to E-M5 to E-M1 and set of lenses, wanted a FF back ever since giving up my old trusted DSLR.

    Loving the A7II so far

more lenses on the way.... 16-35 and 70-200

I made the same move last year. I miss the size of the lenses in the m4/3 system some times but I'm sure happy with the images I'm getting with this system. I have the 24-70, 70-200 and 55. I'm very happy with all of them. Used the A7II and 70-200 to shoot my kid Alpine Ski racing last weekend. Got some great shots!

thanks all. It feels GREAT being back to FF. (used to have a Canon 5D III) Finally got my lenses, 16-35 F/4 ; 24-70 F/4 (bought with camera) ; 70-200 F/4
LOVE that I can mount a ND or Polarizer on my 16-35 and share it with the 70-200! Its liberating.
Weight and size is almost the same as my Oly kit was with all the Pro lenses. When Oly came up with the initial design of the 7-14 Pro w/o Filter mount a LOT of ppl complained including me, but NOW that its official, NO BUT NO Thanks, I decided its time to leave especially cost of Oly Pro lenses are almost the same as Sony Zeiss Glass FF. WTF??
BUT Sony needs to expand the lenses further perhaps a 1.4 TC for the 70-200?

I have largely transitioned from M43 to the A7 system - I still have the EM1, 60 macro, Nocticron and 35-100.

Rather like you when I was staring at the prospect of bigger faster and more expensive lenses on M43 - Nocticron, 40-150 2.8, 7-124 2.8 - I decided I was better off moving to a bigger sensor. The IQ advantage on the A7 I found rather greater than I anticipated. The transition is pretty easy - the A7 is pretty much like an EM1.

For me the holy trinity of Sony lenses at the moment, I feel is 16-35, 55, 70-200. The 16-35 is the biggest improvement from the M43 world. The 7-14 f4 Panny is only just ok and you have to put up with flare and lack of front filters. The lens that has surprised me is the 70-200 - I really couldnt see myself using this large white lens much when I had the 35-100 but it is the lens in my Lightroom library with the most shots. The 55 1.8 is obviously superb and its utility has greatly increased with the ibis on the A7ii. My 24-70 doesnt get a lot of use anymore.

Awesome, I'm also a m4/3 convert from an old GF1! The A7 is obviously a huge improvement in almost every way. I'm still a bit torn on the the size of the FE lenses, but the FE55 is alright for now. I'm also carrying around the 16-35mm, which is a great focal range, but certainly a bit larger than my old Olympus 9-18mm. I'll look to add a zoom at some point as well. The 70-200mm is tempting, but I might opt for the 24-240 instead.

I shot mu4/3 at one point but the FF sensor in a small package can't be beat. That's why I love my A7ii! Welcome to the boards btw.
