I did a little comparison today of how the Canon FDn 85mm f/1.2L renders out of focus regions behind and in front of a subject. Nothing particularly noteworthy subject or composition-wise, but interesting none the less. All three of these are wide open. Looks nice and smooth to me. Longitudinal CA was corrected in Lightroom.

    Nice test!
I notice with my CV 40/1.4 that wide oped blurred background is sometimes harsh, but foreground is buttery smooth. From f2 upwards both are great. I will test my another lenses…

Great shots some smooth bokeh there for sure.

    I have a chrome 50 1.4 Canon FD lens I plan I hooking up to my NEX-6.
