Nature never disappoints when spending time in the woods

    Wish I'd had my better quality camera & lens with me but my little point & shoot at least catches the moment and thought I’d share it as I believe such Turkey sightings up close in the wild are fairly rare.
    While out deer hunting yesterday, this lone ‘Tom’ came scratching along right past me and the bright sunlight really lit up the iridescent colors. Size and thickness of that beard makes me guess he might be a 4-5 year old, 23-25lb bird.

    No, Nature never disappoints. I once walked up on a turkey hen that was in the middle of the trail, and instead of fleeing as usual, it just clucked and bobbed its head as it strutted back and forth across the trail in front of me. I got a bunch of very nice pics from that few minutes.

    If in the spring, she might have had a nest nearby and was trying to keep you distracted...dunno
