Got a chance to go out and shoot yesterday with the A7R II. I've got it in for review this week, and have been putting it through the paces. I used the Canon FD 20/2.8 quite a bit, and the FE 55/1.8 a little, plus a few others thrown in. Of the five here, all but the second are with the FD 20/2.8. The FE 55/1.8 is the second shot.

Wow, truly excellent set of photos!!!
These photos really show the strength of this sensor IMO. So much detail and dynamic range! Kudos to the photographer too off-course ;)

Can't pick a favorite - they all have something that stands out for me
#1 love the sun-rays coming out of the trees
#2 same as #1 but the framing is superb here
#3 and #5 love the composition (low angle) and very sharp foregrounds
    #4 a well seen scene

Looking forward to your review ;)

Love #2! Looks like that FD lens did well on the A7Rii :D

@Jman13@Jman13 - Could you comment a bit about the performance of the FD 20/2.8? Looks to be very sharp all the way to the corners based on these images.

The FD 20/2.8 is a pretty good performer. It doesn't max out the A7R II, but it does a pretty nice job. The center is extremely sharp, and good sharpness is maintained most of the way to the corner. The last tiny bit of the corners softens a bit, even on the A7 II. I'd say that it's close to fully resolving the A7R II in the center (not quite, but close), while the edges and corners fall off a bit, but still provide good levels of detail. On my A7 II, the 20mm maintains very good sharpness except for that last tiny bit of corner, which still shows softer. It's quite a nice lens. It can flare a bit (the first shot I had to hold my hand out around 2 feet and over a bit just out of frame to cut some veiling flare from the sun.).

#2 is amazing! Really great shot, I think it stands above the others (though all are great).

Beautiful set. Number 2 is indeed a standout.

Which gorge is this? I might need to update my bucket list.

And that bridge! It looks like it naturally formed there.

Beautiful! And I agree that #2 is a standout even among the other great images (no small feat, that).
