I'm finally feeling the Minolta love! ) Here's a portrait trial at f/1.4: And at f/2: I think I prefer everything (contrast & background blur) at this setting. This must be some of that Minolta magic I've heard so much about. (I think I can even see those "Minolta" colors...) I never cared much for my copy of the newer MD 50mm 1:1.7. The older MC trounces it pretty thoroughly in the corners. So much so, it even holds up, wide-open vs stopped down: And with both at their optimal corner settings, there's definitely no contest: I think this MC 50mm is a keeper!
