Since I am heavily invested in Voigtlander rangefinder lenses for my NEX I had planned to pick up a CV90. But, since the CV LTM lenses are so small I wanted to stay in that vein and the CV90, while not particularly long, is rather fat. With all the other members crowing about (and displaying stunning pictures from) Minolta slr lenses I figured I'd give the M-Rokkor 90 a shot. I'm glad I did because this thing is sharp! Only one outing so far, but more to come.

One from the same evening as the bald eagle shoot. This is cropped, it was shot from about 500 feet away. I like the pastel colors, not usually how I process stuff. 5N @ f/4

So yesterday morning I went out to see what the world was offering and I got frost. Today when I went out to see what there was to see I got… fog!

    5N with M-Rokkor 90/4 @ f/8

    Stop! (about 100 meters away)

Stop? (about the same distance, down the other street)

Nice images. I particularly like the composition of the third image in your first post.

Going from memory - if that lens is the one I think it is, the lens was also sold by Leica. There was a period when Minolta and Leica had a cooperative agreement where some Leica bodies and lenses were designed by Minolta and sold under both names with minor differences.

    Thanks!

And you are correct, this lens was a joint effort between Leica and Minolta. The Leica version is the Elmar-C 90/4, some of which were actually built in Japan by Minolta.

Minolta also came out with a 28 and a 40, both highly regarded, but the 28 suffered from speckling of the paint inside the lens which caused white spots on the inner surface of the front element.

'Bout damn time too! Nice light on those blossoms, and the bokehlicious clouds are beautiful.

Thanks, I look forward to what you can do with it. :)

No kidding, it was warmer in February than I has been in March until about a week ago. Funny, I went down to the river to shoot the bridge at sunset and these were an afterthought. Or maybe a forethought, I shot these first. ;)

I love the small size of this lens so not intimidating or conspicuous and to have a telephoto along in a small bag or even my pocket. Silent shutter was so nice in church. HDR highlight recovering for his shirt was awesome in Capture One (for Sony). This is about 68% of the frame horizontally.
