Minolta 5400 modification for Sony cameras

    When visiting my parents last weekend I was given a Minolta 5400 hs flash. It doesn't work with Sony cameras except as a manual flash so it is practically worthless (got a Minolta film body, 35-70mm and 70-210mm lenses too). I searched the net why that flash doesn't work and it turns out that Minolta changed some protocols when going from 5400 to 5600. Fortunately some one has made a small converter board that makes the flash usable with Sony bodies:
