    Dear all,
I wanted to go and try the "kind of famous" MD 36-70 (leica legacy blah blah) lens.

On the internet, minolta archive, I have found the following entries
    	MD Zoom Rokkor(-X) 35-70 3.5 22 8 7 55 1 67.5x65.5 365 1978 MD II 2-Touch
    	MD Zoom 22 8 7 55 1 69x65.5 355 1981 MD III
    	MD Zoom 22 8 7 55 0.8 69x68.5 365 1983 MD III 2-Touch / Macro mode
    	MD Zoom 3.5-4.8 22 7 7 55 0.5 63.5x64 185 1991 MD IIIa 2-Touch
which of those is the "right" one and how I am gonna find the "right" entry on the ebay. What should I look for at the description?

Alex, offcourse I haven't tried every variable of the MD 35-70 (maybe Ad here has :D ) but I've read that the MD Zoom 35-70 f/3.5 with the Macro mode is the best of the bunch (and this is the model I own). I would definately rule out the variable aperture f/3.5.4-8...

The non Rokkor-X with macro is the best, imo. It's not really macro but it allows close focusing. The minimum focusing distance for the non-macros is far to long for my tastes. I've owned 2 of these lenses.
