macro daffodils

    I've been doing quite a bit of cropping lately so I decided to get up close and use the whole frame. These were shot with the 5N and a Yashica 42-75 + Soligor 2x macro teleconverter. Macro ratio is around 1:1.25 or so.

    These first 4 were shot @ 42mm




    And these were shot at 75mm



    These are lit with the incandescant light over the dining room table and my LED flashlight. The only difference in the last three is the position of the flashlight. Looks like I need to warm the color balance a bit on those first three.

    Honestly, for stuff like this I think I prefer cropping because it's easier to focus and the DOF is better. To do these reallly well you'd need to use focus stacking. Not that these are bad mind you. :p
